There Must To Be More To Life Than This

The Magician's Greatest Pay

One of the greatest rewards for being a magician are the smiles, laughters and applause you get once you have entertain your audience truly. The picture here was taken at The Curve during one of my recent gig. This girl gave the nicest smile ever when she saw my magic.

Building Bridges Through Magic

Another fun thing about magic is that you get to meet different people; some down right nasty and some really really friendly. I met this group at Urbanattic, Capsquare. Nice people who just wants to have good fun. among them are two actors, Tony Eusoff and Jay.

The Watchmen

Watchmen watches what no one watches and does what no one does. They would lay down their lives watching and protecting. They stand guard over the people that needs them but do not want them. They take up responsibilities which otherwise no one would want. Do you want to be a watchman? "What does it matter..." you ask.

The Drive of Life

I am sure all of you are familiar with a car. It has a powerful engine (depends on what car you drive) with four wheels (some 10) and it can take you from one place to another (duh?!). When you are in the car, the one in power is not you, but the driver (unless he is your personal chauffer, yet there is some power in his hands). The man behind the wheels is the one in charge and he is the one in power. Although you pay him and tell him where to go, still he can make the choice to go otherwise. You want to jump out of the car? Go on =)

Have you ever sat in a car with a driver who literally has the license to kill? I mean as in he is a speed devil. Many times I sat in this guy’s car and he just loves to do funny things with his car. A few times he threatened to leave me on the highway and a few times he actually did that (thankfully not to me though). You see, when you are in someone’s car, he is in power and he drives you.

What are we driven by?

Most of us are driven by the will to get more, more, and more. More of everything. It is good, depending on what you want more of. Wouldn’t it be scary to let someone unreliable to drive you? Someone that at any given time can just vanish and then the car lose control and you um... die? The driving force is a very powerful force and when given to the wrong person, your life is in trouble.

The driving power of our life should be given to someone who we can rely on. The world we cannot rely on. The things of the world are here today and tomorrow are gone. Material wealth is in your hands today and tomorrow it disappears. Worldly fame stands beside you, feeding you with drugs and you will never be able to live without them. The imposter of worldly success will drive you down the road of destruction, overwhelmed by your very own worldly success. You let money drive you, and to the world is where your thoughts and minds are. You let worldly achievements drive you and in the world is where your heart will be.

God says, “Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Luke 12:33-34)

Do you think you have security in the hands of the world? Do you trust the world enough to let it drive your life? Or do you just want the world to drive your life?

True security can only be found in God and God alone. The world can never provide you security. So do you want to let security drive you or you want insecurity? This is choice.

The driver that drives you will determine the place he will drive you to. So chose wisely.

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Kung Fu Panda

One always meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.

I watched Kung Fu Panda the other day and I came across this quote by Master Oogway. He was telling this to Master Shifu. What happened was a long time ago, Master Shifu adopted a little baby tiger he named Tai Lung. Tai Lung grew up under Master Shifu’s care and he was trained in kung fu by Master Shifu. When Tai Lung grew stronger, he hungered for power and wanted to obtain the Dragon Scroll. However, Master Oogway had the ability to see through Tai Lung and found out that Tai Lung is not the suitable one to be crowned Dragon Warrior and given the Dragon Scroll. So Tai Lung went on a rampage and killed many of the citizens (mostly pigs and cute little rabbits haha) in the city. Master Oogway managed to stop Tai Lung and then put him in a prison located in the high mountaintops and guarded by 1000 guards. Master Shifu loved Tai Lung so much that he found it hard to stop him. How could he destroy the little baby that he loved so much? He regretted taking the baby into his care.

Master Oogway then told Master Shifu that Tai Lung will return and he was so terrified and shocked. And Master Oogway told Master Shifu, “One always meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.”

You see, Master Shifu thought that Tai Lung is put away in the prison forever and did not expect him to escape. However, it was his destiny to meet Tai Lung when he was an abandoned baby. It was also his destiny to train Tai Lung in kung fu. And it was his destiny stop Tai Lung. He failed once, he must not fail twice. Sometimes in life, there are no second chances. For the rest of the story, go watch Kung Fu Panda, I think I have spoilt it enough already haha.

What is your destiny? Are you taking the road to avoid it?

All of us have a destiny. Or should I say a purpose in life only we can fulfill. All of us have a purpose here on earth. What is yours? Do you know? Do you even care to find out? Or do you just want to live life as it goes and live it the way you want. Do you know you have a higher calling in life than to just grow up into adulthood, have a family, raise children and finally die? I tell you that there must to be more to life than this.

I have posted many posts about Jonah the Prophet from the Bible and I bet all of you know the story well. Jonah had a destiny, a purpose he needs to fulfill. However he chose not to heed his calling and he chose instead to run away from it. He ran and he ran and he ran as far as he could. But no matter how far he ran, he could never get an inch away from the call and purpose that God has for him.

Jonah met his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.

Are you still running?

Wan Juin's Birthday BBQ Party

Last Saturday the Lethains gathered for a "reuninon". Actually we were celebrating Wan Juin's birthday =) all thanks to Wan Juin for inviting all of us to your beautiful home.
It was nice to meet up with the ex-Lethians again. It always brings up "sweet" memories whenever I see them haha. I could remember the times when I was so mischievious.

Well we had BBQ that night and I enjoyed BBQ-ing the poor little dead squid =) I find the squid really cute so I ate it. And we had pictures taken. I was basically summoned by Shannon Keng each time she wanted her picture take8 with someone. "Zlwin! Come here!" was all I heard from Shannon.

And the three birthday girls cut their cake together. Wan Juin, Suba and Yvonne's birthday all falls in the month of June.

Well that's about all for this post. Enjoy the pictures =)

    About Zlwin Chew

He is a person who is sold out for Jesus. Nothing can move him once he has set his mind on doing and achieving something. Once he is set for one thing, no one can tell him otherwise.

He blogs, but he blogs differently. The world blogs about themselves, nothing but me, myself and I. But Zlwin Chew blogs his God. He believes that a blog is a powerful medium in which one can tell the world about what He, Himself and God has done in me, meself and I. God needs to be glorified, even online. The world needs to hear what it does not want to hear but need to hear. The world need to know what it does not want to know but need to know.

Zlwin Chew is also a magician who has a heart and passion to enhance his Gospel sharing with the aid of magical effects and illusions. His magic portfolio can be found at http://www.zlwinmagic.com/

He loves photography as well. Capturing time in frames is his passion. His photography blog can be found at http://www.zlwinchew.blogspot.com/

He is radical. He wants to be radical. He wants to be different. Because everyone thinks outside of the box, he thinks inside of the box. He is different. And he does not care how people view him. He only cares how God views him. Zlwin Chew is a Jesus Freak.

And he dare you to do something radical. He dare you to...
