There Must To Be More To Life Than This

The Magician's Greatest Pay

www.zlwinmagic.com

One of the greatest rewards for being a magician are the smiles, laughters and applause you get once you have entertain your audience truly. The picture here was taken at The Curve during one of my recent gig. This girl gave the nicest smile ever when she saw my magic.

Building Bridges Through Magic

Another fun thing about magic is that you get to meet different people; some down right nasty and some really really friendly. I met this group at Urbanattic, Capsquare. Nice people who just wants to have good fun. among them are two actors, Tony Eusoff and Jay.

The Watchmen

Watchmen watches what no one watches and does what no one does. They would lay down their lives watching and protecting. They stand guard over the people that needs them but do not want them. They take up responsibilities which otherwise no one would want. Do you want to be a watchman? "What does it matter..." you ask.

Games...

Here’s one of the games session. My station was in charge of doing this: They are to act out a scene. The scene is tourists posing and photographers taking pictures of the KL Twin Towers.
Look at their results. I personally think that all of them did a good job.

To The End

As the year 2008 draws to an end, many of us will be looking back and evaluate how the year has been for us. This is not a personal space that I use to share what has happened in my life throughout the year but I will encourage you to look back and remember the things that are worth remembering. Look back and see what you have achieved or from what you have fallen short. See the goodness of God towards you throughout this year and thank Him for everything that has happened.

The church’s theme for this year is “New Beginnings and New Trends in Taking Dominion.”

Look around us and we will see that there is indeed a new beginning and new trend in our life. From the political arena in Malaysia we see the unexpected change during the March 8 elections. In America we see history being created when Barack Obama won the elections. What new beginnings happened in your life this year?

This year has been a new beginning for me in many areas. Let me share just a few with you.

It is the first year I left high school and entered into college.
I got my diving license from Pastor John. We went to Phuket to dive =)
I decided to learn the art of magic so that I could use this new talent to serve God in a different way.
I also got my driving license haha.
I was Anslem Roy’s photographer for his largest illusion show in Malaysia. What an opportunity.

I am now looking back and wondering whether all I have done will bring eternal value or not. We may be going about doing almost everything we are capable of but at the end of the day what really counts is whether we are doing it for a higher purpose or for personal enjoyment. I constantly pray that I will be able to use my talents and skills to serve God in a larger capacity. In the words of Paul, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” So in whatever I do I sometimes think whether does it serve a purpose or not. I have to admit that most of the time I couldn’t care less and just go ahead and do it =)

While this year comes to an end, I look back and treasure the memories for I know what happens today and what happened yesterday will and certainly will determine our tomorrow.

I look forward to next year as I pray for new revelations and discernment. The work of the ministry continues. The beginnings of this year will bring me on its journey the next year and the year after and the year after and…

Isaiah 65:8
This is what the Lord says: “As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes and men say, ‘Don’t destroy it, there is yet some good in it,’ so will I do in behalf of my servants; I will not destroy them all.

My Excerpt On Hydrowar =)

Hydrowar was really fun this time. =) Every year when we play Hydrowar it would be drizzling or raining and it will actually kind of ruin the game because our life tags get destroyed fast. But this year was so nice. It was very very freezing cold though because we played it in Genting Highlands haha.

In the beginning I was the cameraman taking pictures when you guys were enjoying the game. After a while I decided it was time for me to get wet and go back to being a child once again =) It was really fun. I could see Hwai Tah running around the place like a small kid with an exciting grin on his face. Benny was having fun with his blue pail. So nice to see the young and old enjoying a nice game together. Who says only football will get people together? Hehe =)

I was kind of angry that all 10 groups made an alliance to destroy Chatan first. Pity Chatan, they haven’t even started to move out of their base and there were like 100+ people approaching them with water guns and bottles and screaming all the way haha. So I decided to call the committee together to help Chatan and defend them. We did quite a good job. And how mad I was when Jasen Raj told me that he actually paid a few groups to go and attack Chatan! x.x” Jasen, you are such a baddie haha.

Hydrowar was so fun. The cold didn’t stop us from going crazy. Once, the committee got together and made a plan to catch the huge Eugene and pour water on him, it was successful. I caught hold of Eugene and he carried me a good few meters before he finally gave up and knelt on the ground to receive his water =) one strong guy he is. One person I found amusing was Amanda Yip, she was practically DRY even after the game! So Hwai Tah and I decided to corner her and pour water on her. We chased Amanda and “splash”! And she was really wet for the first time. I wonder how she stayed dry throughout the game. Salute. =)

I also saw Su Mei taking the opportunity to attack her mean sister Su Ling. I caught a few shots of Su Mei shooting Su Ling with the water gun. And also Adrian Chung shooting at his sister Shirlynn Chung. So farney =) Guys were having fun disturbing the girls and some machos were having the time of their lives trying to be heroes by defending the girls. I personally enjoyed Hydrowar. Then there were my two cousins (Charlene and Jolene Tay) and their friend (Megan Tan), they kept appearing out of no where and pour cold water on me when I was about to get dry and comfy again. Such annoyingly fun pests haha =)

It was a miracle to see that Christina and the RM25,000 camera were not wet. Wei Sern didn’t have the guts to bring his chun camera into the battle field and sat a far distant away shooting. Patrick Ee was such a nice target but too bad he was using his camera as defend. And once I filled up my yellow bucket with water and approach this girl who was unaware and then I emptied the whole bucket on her. Chilled her to the bones haha. Then I got my payback when Ogustin and his gang caught me and almost killed me. I also want to apologize to little annoying Darren Aloysius for throwing a whole bucket of water at him. Because of his tiny size, he fell under pressure but thank goodness he wasn’t injured or I would have to pay his team a huge amount of Dynamite Dollars in compensation.

I wished Hydrowar lasted longer =) so fun!

(Scroll Down, I have posted about 90 pics taken during Hydrowar.)

BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL...

We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year…

How merry should Christmas be? How much gifts should be exchanged to make Christmas merry? During the month of December, people will be saving up their money to buy gifts for their good friends and family members. They will go shopping and look for the items that their friends would want as a Christmas gift. However, I choose not to join the crowd.

I believe that Christmas should not be the only time where we give gifts to one another and try to please everyone. I believe that Christmas is a time to share the greatest gift with those who do not have it yet.

25th December is the day we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus wasn’t exactly born on this day. He came into the world to give us the greatest gift that man could get. He came into the world to die for our sins and to give us the ticket to heaven.

It is a good thing to bless one another with gifts during Christmas for that is like what Jesus did by blessing us with salvation. However this should not be the main thing to do on Christmas. Non-Christians are also practicing the exchanging of gifts without knowing the true reason behind this season. What then makes us different from them? Jesus did not say, “You must buy presents for your friends on Christmas day.”, Jesus said, “Be my witness…”

I am sorry to disappoint those who may expect gifts from me. I want to tell you that my financial situation does not allow me to buy any gifts for you. I do not like using my father’s money to buy gifts for my friends. Also I do not believe that it is a must to give gifts to my friends. But throughout the year, I would sometimes buy books and give to some of my close buddies because books are much more valuable than decorative items or accessories. However I do thank you for giving me gifts, I appreciate each and everyone of them and I thank God for your blessing towards me.

Once Christmas is over, the exchanging of gifts should and must be continued. Give one another your time, your help, your prayers. Give them something that will be of eternal value and not of earthly value. Give them happiness not through material stuff but give them the joy of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Spend time with your friends and pray with them and bring them to church. Give gifts that will last for eternity.

Have a Blessed Christmas.

Here are the pictures taken during Hydrowar at GY Camp 2008.
Most of the pictures were taken by me. But those that you see me in it then it is clearly not taken by me. I did not have time to edit the pics and also I do not know how haha. But do enjoy and grab as many as you want. However the pics have been compressed to a smaller size. The original ones are too big to be uploaded into Blogger all at once. More will be uploaded soon. And DVDs will be on sale.

    Man In The Mirror

    About Zlwin Chew

He is a person who is sold out for Jesus. Nothing can move him once he has set his mind on doing and achieving something. Once he is set for one thing, no one can tell him otherwise.

He blogs, but he blogs differently. The world blogs about themselves, nothing but me, myself and I. But Zlwin Chew blogs his God. He believes that a blog is a powerful medium in which one can tell the world about what He, Himself and God has done in me, meself and I. God needs to be glorified, even online. The world needs to hear what it does not want to hear but need to hear. The world need to know what it does not want to know but need to know.

Zlwin Chew is also a magician who has a heart and passion to enhance his Gospel sharing with the aid of magical effects and illusions. His magic portfolio can be found at http://www.zlwinmagic.com/

He loves photography as well. Capturing time in frames is his passion. His photography blog can be found at http://www.zlwinchew.blogspot.com/

He is radical. He wants to be radical. He wants to be different. Because everyone thinks outside of the box, he thinks inside of the box. He is different. And he does not care how people view him. He only cares how God views him. Zlwin Chew is a Jesus Freak.

And he dare you to do something radical. He dare you to...
