Blackout at Blook
Howdy people!!! =D
How has the New Year been so far for you? Mine was kind of nice. I am having a great time working at Blook in Aeon Mall, Bukit Tinggi. Let me share with you what happened on Saturday night.
Last Saturday I started work at 5.30pm after the youth meeting in church. Around 6pm the electricity when off awhile and came back on few minutes later. Only the shop lots in my row were affected, including the floor above me and below me. But the rest of Aeon was ok and unaffected by the blackout. Then after awhile the electricity went off again and came back a few minutes later. Ish! We lost a few customers because of that.
Then at 7pm sharp the electricity went off AGAIN for the third time! Ish we were so frustrated as it was a Saturday night and there were a lot of customers coming that time. But this time the electricity did not come back for almost 4hours!!! During those 4 hours of darkness and dim lightings we lost A LOT of customers as well as money. We could have earned about RM2000 you know. Yikes!
Then I was thinking in the dark…
How important it is to have electricity, in our case – light. Without light the customers could not see properly what they want to wear or try. The front was not very dark but the problem is the fitting room was in total darkness and no one could see anything, so the sales went down naturally.
We had to stay back until 11.30 before we could go home when the electricity came back on. This is because we could not close our shop’s door as it needed electricity! Gosh!
How important is electricity to you in your life?
Are we connected to the main power-point in our life or are we far from it?
Jesus says “I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
If we are walking in darkness we would have missed out on a lot of things. Like my customers who missed out on beautiful dresses and clothes when they walked in darkness and could not see well the clothes, we will too miss out on many things if we do not walk in the light.
Blook lost about RM2000 to RM3000 during the 4 hours of blackout. What are you losing during your lifetime of blackout?
It is now or never. Go back to the light.
