The Magician's Greatest Pay

One of the greatest rewards for being a magician are the smiles, laughters and applause you get once you have entertain your audience truly. The picture here was taken at The Curve during one of my recent gig. This girl gave the nicest smile ever when she saw my magic.

Building Bridges Through Magic

Another fun thing about magic is that you get to meet different people; some down right nasty and some really really friendly. I met this group at Urbanattic, Capsquare. Nice people who just wants to have good fun. among them are two actors, Tony Eusoff and Jay.

The Watchmen

Watchmen watches what no one watches and does what no one does. They would lay down their lives watching and protecting. They stand guard over the people that needs them but do not want them. They take up responsibilities which otherwise no one would want. Do you want to be a watchman? "What does it matter..." you ask.

BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL...

We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year…

How merry should Christmas be? How much gifts should be exchanged to make Christmas merry? During the month of December, people will be saving up their money to buy gifts for their good friends and family members. They will go shopping and look for the items that their friends would want as a Christmas gift. However, I choose not to join the crowd.

I believe that Christmas should not be the only time where we give gifts to one another and try to please everyone. I believe that Christmas is a time to share the greatest gift with those who do not have it yet.

25th December is the day we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus wasn’t exactly born on this day. He came into the world to give us the greatest gift that man could get. He came into the world to die for our sins and to give us the ticket to heaven.

It is a good thing to bless one another with gifts during Christmas for that is like what Jesus did by blessing us with salvation. However this should not be the main thing to do on Christmas. Non-Christians are also practicing the exchanging of gifts without knowing the true reason behind this season. What then makes us different from them? Jesus did not say, “You must buy presents for your friends on Christmas day.”, Jesus said, “Be my witness…”

I am sorry to disappoint those who may expect gifts from me. I want to tell you that my financial situation does not allow me to buy any gifts for you. I do not like using my father’s money to buy gifts for my friends. Also I do not believe that it is a must to give gifts to my friends. But throughout the year, I would sometimes buy books and give to some of my close buddies because books are much more valuable than decorative items or accessories. However I do thank you for giving me gifts, I appreciate each and everyone of them and I thank God for your blessing towards me.

Once Christmas is over, the exchanging of gifts should and must be continued. Give one another your time, your help, your prayers. Give them something that will be of eternal value and not of earthly value. Give them happiness not through material stuff but give them the joy of knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Spend time with your friends and pray with them and bring them to church. Give gifts that will last for eternity.

Have a Blessed Christmas.

Here are the pictures taken during Hydrowar at GY Camp 2008.
Most of the pictures were taken by me. But those that you see me in it then it is clearly not taken by me. I did not have time to edit the pics and also I do not know how haha. But do enjoy and grab as many as you want. However the pics have been compressed to a smaller size. The original ones are too big to be uploaded into Blogger all at once. More will be uploaded soon. And DVDs will be on sale.

Post Camp Thoughts

Grace Youth Camp 2008 has come to an end. Sleepy heads are catching up on their sleep. Some are still unpacking their stuff (like me) haha. I am still “in” camp. Yesterday I woke up and I felt as though I was still in camp. The feeling is still there haha funny. I have been pretty busy even after camp because of the YAF Christmas Harvest and other stuff.

I have been thinking and thinking and putting my thoughts together.

We are looking for young leaders to rise up to take our place in the work of the ministry as we move on to other ministries for our age. Throughout camp I have been keeping an eye on a few particular leaders. All of them did a great job managing their team and doing all they could to win. The young leaders were filled with enthusiasm and energy. They have great potential in excelling. Some of the leaders were not the loud type but more of the quiet type; they too were filled with the spirit to lead. However I was wondering, “How many of them will stay on in the church in the coming days?...”

My desire is to see young leaders rising up to work with us and work with God. God is calling not for talents or skills but He is calling for the heart. God said to Samuel regarding David, “Do not consider his height or appearance for God does not look at the things man look at. Man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.”

I am glad that I got to confirm some of the things I saw in camp. From now onwards we will have our eyes on you and will be praying for you.

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. There is a great need for hearts that are passionate. Stop fooling around in the world, there is nothing you can gain out of it. Even non-Christians know that there is nothing they can take with them when they die. This world is just a temporary residence where we are waiting for the transit to heaven (or hell). Whatever you do on earth will decide what you will get.

I will not urge you to do good because everyone thinks that by doing good they will go to heaven. That is a total baloney. I urge you to know Christ, take up your cross, deny yourself, follow Him and go to the ends of the earth. By doing all these I can guarantee that you will have completed the purpose God has for you in your life.

If you still want to go on living life the way you want. Go ahead. At the end of the day you will find that, “Everything is meaningless, like chasing after the wind.” Solomon in all his splendor, riches and fame, found that everything he has done and gained is meaningless.

Within each and everyone of us is the power to transform and trend-set the world. Even non-Christians have that. They have the ability to rule the world and to change the world the way they want it. The only thing that differs us from them is that we are Christians and we want to transform the world the way God wants it to be. And to do so, we need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is the impartation of God’s ability and power on a yielded believer to will and to act according to God’s purpose.

Philippians 3:10-14
I want to know Christ… and press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 4:19
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

Matthew 16:24
If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

Acts 1:8
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be My witness in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”

Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And teaching them to obey everything I have taught you. And surely I will be with you always, until the ends of the age.

God will call his mighty warriors together one day. And these mighty warriors will cause a revolution in the world. Do you want to be counted among the mighty warriors…

Wake Me Up When December Ends

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since I last updated. My apologies. I have been really busy planning for the upcoming TNT Youth Camp. The camp is on Monday (15th Dec) to Thursday (18th Dec).

I have been sitting in front of my laptop for countless hours reading and replying emails. Every hour there is like 5 emails flowing into my inbox (not counting the spams and messages from Facebook or Friendster) I am also in the midst of a piracy battle against some big organization here in Malaysia, however I am not sharing anything on this for now =) Apart from that there is like college studies to revise and I had a test yesterday which thank goodness I manage to do it with the limited study time I had.

On the 19th, the day after camp, I will be heading to PJ to my cousin’s house. She is having a birthday party and I am the magician/entertainer for the night. On the 20th there will be a Christmas party organized by my church’s Young Adults Fellowship (YAF) and again I will be performing there and also sharing a Gospel message incorporated into my magic routine. And on the 21st there will be Sunday School Christmas Party, yes, I am going to perform there as well. Three performances back to back with three different audiences, three different themes and three different routines. Oh wow… I think I will be able to do it by God’s grace. Preparations are still midway but I am so excited.

However I had some time off to go out with my friends and have a good time.

On Wednesday I went out with my friend Jason Tan with his sister Felicia Tan. They are new friends of mine which I met few months back. Really nice bunch and we had a good time together at Aeon’s GreenBox Karaoke and watching Twilight.

On Thursday I went to Suba’s house for a while with Jolene, Sheng Giap, Yvonne and Sarah. We watched a movie called Mirrors and the girls were screaming all the way through. Then Suba was so kind and good hearted that she bought us Dominos Pizza and we ate as much as we wanted. After that was really fun, we went to her house garden and played on the trampoline, then Suba suddenly dissaapeared. When she returned, she came back holding a packet of flour and she started throwing flour at us!!! Even the cameraman wasn’t spared! What a nice time we had being little kids running around again.

That is all I have to share for now. Camp is coming and I am so darn excited =) mind my French hehe. We are going to have a really good time at camp and I believe that God will have a good time with us too. Pastor Henry has taken precious time off to spend with us and to share his heart with us. He has an awesome message to tell us and I believe those who hear and those who hear hard enough will be blessed.

The end of another great year comes. Life goes on… Life goes on…

You will hear from me again… Real soon.

God bless all.

Contradictory Quotes.

There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.
-Blaise Pascal, French mathematician, physicist, and religious philosopher. Died of poor health two months after his 39th birthday. (1623-1662)

I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.
-John Lennon, founding member of the world famous band The Beatles. Murdered in New York in 1980. (1940-1980)

    Man In The Mirror

. A very nice song from the late Michael Jackson. "If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change."

    About Zlwin Chew

He is a person who is sold out for Jesus. Nothing can move him once he has set his mind on doing and achieving something. Once he is set for one thing, no one can tell him otherwise.

He blogs, but he blogs differently. The world blogs about themselves, nothing but me, myself and I. But Zlwin Chew blogs his God. He believes that a blog is a powerful medium in which one can tell the world about what He, Himself and God has done in me, meself and I. God needs to be glorified, even online. The world needs to hear what it does not want to hear but need to hear. The world need to know what it does not want to know but need to know.

Zlwin Chew is also a magician who has a heart and passion to enhance his Gospel sharing with the aid of magical effects and illusions. His magic portfolio can be found at http://www.zlwinmagic.com/

He loves photography as well. Capturing time in frames is his passion. His photography blog can be found at http://www.zlwinchew.blogspot.com/

He is radical. He wants to be radical. He wants to be different. Because everyone thinks outside of the box, he thinks inside of the box. He is different. And he does not care how people view him. He only cares how God views him. Zlwin Chew is a Jesus Freak.

And he dare you to do something radical. He dare you to...
