There are more and more health products out there in the market compared to the 1990s. Everyday the newspapers are swarmed with ads on health. It makes it hard for one to make up his mind on which product to buy because every product seems to be better than the other.
One disadvantage is that all these healthcare products are only affordable to the wealthy. One who earns little can never have the privilege to buy these products. Why is that?
Isn’t it quite unfair to the poor? Oh well...
These days my friends seem to know more about irons, fish oil, gingko nuts and celery than anything else. Everyone from young to old takes all kinds of medicines and pills just to stay healthy. They are willing to spend large amount of cash to buy for themselves health and long life.
What about our spiritual life? Do we even care how are our spiritual bodies are right now? Do we take pills to strengthen our spiritual beings? For many of us the answer would be a “no”.
Look at Pastor John =) saw his picture on top? Gosh! I love showing off my muscles but when he is around I feel rather small! Haha! Look at his body! Woo hoo!!! I keep telling my friends that Pastor John has a really nice body and they think I am gay. But it is undeniable. Pastor, you have a really nice body! Haha.
I salute him. He finds time to go to the gym with his wife and is concern about his body and health. This is good. But what makes him stand out among the rest is that he doesn’t only builds his mortal body up but he is always building his spiritual being.
He eats healthy food for his body. He reads the Bible for spiritual food.
He spends time in the gym. He also spends time in his room with God.
He knows how to stay healthy. He also knows how to stay spiritually healthy.
He cares for his body. He is also concern about his spiritual body.
He is growing everyday (older haha). But he is growing stronger spiritually.
He is so strong that robbers think twice when they want to rob him. He is also so spiritually strong that the “robber” dare not even touch him.
What about you?
Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
continue to live in him,
rooted and built up in him,
strengthened in the faith as you were taught,
and overflowing with thankfulness.
Building spiritual muscles,
Zlwin Chew
Give me one more year and you will see more muscles =)
