“Argh! Life sucks! Why is everyone turning against me?! My friend bailed me out last minute! My sister’s a pain! He’s not picking up my call! My handphone just went dead! My mum’s nagging me! Today is just not my day! Damn! I hate life!”
The normal teenagers cry almost everyday huh? Well life isn’t smooth sailing all the way ain’t it? Sometimes you’re up in the air sometimes you’re face down on the ground. Welcome to life.
You’re filled with so much sorrow and pain now, your crush just told you that he or she does not feel the way you do, your dad suddenly plans to take you to a remote place somewhere in the middle of nowhere for a “holiday” during the weekends and no matter how much you tell him that your weekends are for friends he still turn a deaf ear to it. You want to call up your best friend hoping that she may comfort you and just lend a listening ear to you but she is having a date with her boyfriend! You can’t take it anymore! You take it all on your little sister by bullying her and she cries and mum yells and you and give you an hour-long lecture about loving thy siblings. Can your day get any worse than this??? So who are you going to turn to for comfort? All your friends are busy with their own stuff. Who can you turn to now?
Here’s the answer, plain and simple truth, someone cares for you and wants to help you, no I’m not joking, His name is JESUS. And yes, He cares for you. 1Peter 5:7 – Cast your anxiety on Him for He cares for you.
You’re screaming at me now , “What da?! Hey dude! FYI I pray all the time and tell Him about my problems and I’m still feeling the same, not getting better but getting worse!” Chill dude, say that you’re Mr.A and Mr.B has a problem, he’s been trying to tell you about it and is expecting help but he gets no respond, this is because Mr.B does not have a relationship with Mr.A yet. Do you suddenly go up to a stranger and tell him that your wife left you for another guy after 10years of marriage?! Yea you may if you’ve gone senile. Same with God, you first need to build and have a relationship with God before you are able to get results for your lamentations to Him.
Relationship is like a bridge that connects you to the other person. You get to know the person by spending time with him and slowly develop a relationship, a bridge that connects him to you. Have a relationship with God, have a bridge that connects you to God! Across this bridge disappointment crosses over from your side to Jesus’ side, across this bridge goes anger, frustration runs over to the other side, sorrows get kicked from your side to Jesus’. You have a Friend that wants to really really help you. This Friend will always be there for you to talk to, He doesn’t go on an appointment and leave you alone, He doesn’t get too busy with His own chores and forget about you, His mobile phone is always on and ready to receive your call. He is always there! So do you bridge?
But remember this, when you have a relationship with God it doesn’t assure you that there will not be any problems in your life BUT it does assure you that when problems come your way, you have a Friend who is more than able and more than able to pull you through. God bless all…
