OUW!!!
I was and am still so happy! Here was the account of what happened. Andy and I were called to join this “Puisi dan Lagu” competition among schools. This is what we have to do: Write our own original piece of “puisi” and a song. So we did it, and we were practicing for three days straight last week, it was tiring. Our group consists of 6 students, only Andy and I were non-Malays while the other four were Malays. Andy and two more others was the vocalist while I was the lead guitarist (classical guitar) and accompanied by another guitarist and a “gendang” player.
So yesterday was the competition. 16 schools took part including us (SMK Dato Hamzah) Everyone presented their “puisi dan lagu” and we were the 8th to perform. After we did it, we felt as though we didn’t do very well.
Then the results came out...
“Johan dalam Pertandingan Puisi dan Lagu daerah Klang 2007...... *suspense ... dengan 2.5 markah lebih daripada Naib Johan.... jatuh kepada...... *drum rolls.... DATO HAMZAH!!!!!!!”
And I took my guitar and ran to the stage like a mad man haha. I did not actually expect us to win! Moreover our teacher already gave us the thumbs-down sign. I was shouting in Malay, “Kan saya dah cakap?! Kan saya dah cakap?!” I told them we were going to take the 1st place but it was out of positivity, not confidence haha.
Now for our next competition, SMK Dato Hamzah will represent the whole of Klang to compete. And if we win this, we will be representing Selangor and go to Labuan to compete. Wow! Haha I am so ecstatic =D
Praise God. I remember Andy and I were praying before we went onstage to perform. We did not ask God to let us win, we only asked that we could glorify God’s name. But God gave us MORE than we asked! He gave us MORE! =) Prasie God.
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably (exceedingly) more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work in us.
The verse above and the incident that happened yesterday told me that God’s Word is always true. As mentioned in the verse above, God did immeasurably more than what we (Andy and I) asked for. The NKJV Bible uses the word “exceedingly”. We did not ask God for a the 1st place but God who is able to do immeasurably and exceedingly more gave us more than what we prayed for. God is good... Prasie God...
Here are the pictures I took. Too bad I did not bring my camera with me because I did not think we would win. So I used my friend’s handphone camera to take pictures and the quality wasn’t good. Haha I populated his phone with so many of my pictures =)
